That matters because the whole point of Triton is covering the places cameras legally and physically can't go: restrooms, locker rooms, etc. The Milestone integration connects those blind-spot alerts back to the security operations picture your team already lives in, so a vape, aggression, or loitering event in a bathroom triggers an alarm tied to the nearest hallway camera - both live, and as a permanent, reviewable record after the fact.

Milestone XProtect (On-Prem)

The fit: Every Triton event does more than trigger a live alert - it's logged as an alarm in Milestone's alarm list, permanently tied to a timestamp and linked directly to the recorded video from the nearest camera. That means an administrator investigating an incident doesn't have to have been watching live; they can pull up the exact moment days later, see who came and went around the event, and review the Triton sensor's own occupancy stream and environmental readings (air quality, sound level, and more) from that same window.

How it works: Triton ULTRA is added to Milestone as an ONVIF conformant device (port 18888, using the sensor's admin credentials). On the sensor side, you configure Platform Integration > TCP Settings with a Set String of triton.%EID@TRIGGER% and a Reset String of triton.reset, then enable TCP Set for every event you want forwarded. In Milestone's Management Client, you define a Generic Event that matches the TCP string (e.g., triton.Vape or triton.THC) and build an alarm definition triggered by that event. Note: a Milestone device license is required for each Triton sensor added to the system.

Alert workflow & camera association, live and after the fact: In Smart Client, set up a Matrix (default port 1234) and build a 2x1 view with the Triton ULTRA stream in one cell and the Matrix component in the other, so the associated camera feed pops up live the moment an alarm triggers. But the value doesn't disappear once the alert clears: because the event is logged in Milestone's alarm list and tied to the exact timestamp, anyone reviewing the incident later can jump straight to the recorded footage from the hallway or entry camera to see who was nearby, alongside the Triton sensor's own occupancy stream and environmental data (air quality, sound level) from inside the space at that moment - turning a vague report into a documented, reviewable event on the camera timeline instead of hours of footage to scrub through.

Live monitoring, without doing rounds: Because the Triton ULTRA occupancy stream is added to Milestone as its own RTSP stream, it isn't limited to alarm-triggered views. Operators can pull it up anytime in Smart Client alongside your cameras, to check on a restroom in real time instead of walking the halls to do a physical round. Add every restroom to the same Matrix view as your cameras, and one operator can watch all of them at once - a real force multiplier for coverage.
