Triton ULTRA delivers sensor notifications to a Microsoft Teams channel by email, using either the sensor’s SMTP settings or Triton Cloud alert rules. Staff receive the alert in a shared workspace where they can coordinate a response and keep track of follow-up.

For teams that already use Microsoft Teams throughout the day, channel notifications bring sensor activity into their normal communication routine. Staff can identify the location, discuss who is responding, and share what they find.

Direct connection from Triton ULTRA

How it works: Use the Teams channel’s email address as the destination in ULTRA’s SMTP settings. Enable the sensor events you want to send. The direct connection is configured on the device and does not require Triton Cloud.

Triton Cloud + Microsoft Teams

Connect the channel: Add the channel’s email address as a contact in Triton Cloud, then assign it to the relevant alert rules. Use Text-Based Email formatting for the notification.

Choose what reaches staff: Select the sensor events and recipients through Cloud alert rules. Centralized configuration is useful when multiple sensors need to notify the same team.

Make the alert easy to act on

Give each sensor a descriptive building and room name so staff can recognize the location in the notification. Choose a channel used by the people responsible for responding to those alerts.

Before you start: Obtain the channel’s email address and confirm that its settings allow incoming alert emails. Follow the guide for your connection method and send a test notification before applying the same setup to more sensors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do we need from Teams?
An email address for the destination channel and settings that allow it to receive the alert emails.

Can we choose which events appear in Teams?
Select the event types in the sensor’s notification settings or in Triton Cloud alert rules.

How will staff know which sensor sent an alert?
Set a descriptive sensor name, such as its building and room location. That name appears in the notification.

What is the difference between direct SMTP and Triton Cloud?
Direct SMTP is configured on the sensor. Triton Cloud manages alert recipients and rules centrally, which is useful when several sensors need the same notification settings.
