Yes, Triton ULTRA integrates with Avigilon, across both Avigilon Control Center (ACC) 7 and Avigilon Unity, on-prem or through Triton Cloud. Depending on which Avigilon platform version you're running, there's a path that fits your environment without forcing you to change how your security team already works.

That matters because the whole point of Triton is covering the places cameras legally and physically can't go: restrooms, locker rooms, etc. The Avigilon integration connects those blind-spot alerts back to the security operations picture your team already lives in, so a vape, aggression, or loitering event in a bathroom shows up as a bookmarked, recorded event tied to the nearest camera - both live, and as a permanent record you can pull up after the fact.

Avigilon (On-Prem, via POS Transaction License)

The fit: Avigilon's own native integration framework is gated to Unity 8.6 and higher. If you're running ACC 7 or an earlier Unity release - which describes a large share of installed Avigilon systems - event integration has to go through Avigilon's Point of Sale (POS) Transaction engine instead. That's true for any sensor vendor connecting to an Avigilon system at that version level, not just Triton, and it requires purchasing a separate POS Transaction License directly from Avigilon.

How it works: On the Triton ULTRA sensor, you configure Platform Integration > TCP Settings with your Avigilon server's IP, port 10001 (the default for POS transactions), content type set to Text, and a set string of triton.%EID@TRIGGERNAME%. On the Avigilon side, you create a POS Transaction Source with an exception (e.g., "Triton_Vape") matched against that text string, and set a rule - POS transaction started - to trigger actions like Start Recording or a Display On-Screen Alert. Using the %EID@TRIGGERNAME% wildcard means you only need to set up one transaction source in Avigilon to cover every Triton event type.

Alert workflow & camera association, live and after the fact: Associate the desired cameras, including the Triton ULTRA's own RTSP occupancy stream, to the POS Transaction Source so they record automatically the moment a matching event string comes in. Because this uses Avigilon's POS Transaction engine, every event is also searchable after the fact: administrators can search the transaction text (e.g., "triton.Vape") directly in Avigilon's video search tools to jump straight to the recorded moment, instead of scrubbing through hours of footage. This path requires the Avigilon POS Transaction License.

Live monitoring, without doing rounds: Because the Triton ULTRA occupancy stream is added to Avigilon as its own RTSP stream, it isn't limited to event-triggered recording. Operators can pull it up anytime alongside your cameras, to check on a restroom in real time instead of walking the halls to do a physical round. Add every restroom to the same view as your cameras, and one operator can watch all of them at once - a real force multiplier for coverage.

Triton Cloud + Avigilon (with Evidence Room)

The fit: This is the path built for the reality that most Avigilon deployments aren't yet on Unity 8.6+. Triton Cloud connects directly to Avigilon ACC 7 or Unity and automatically bookmarks camera footage to every event - without requiring the Avigilon POS Transaction License at all. You get the fastest path to camera-linked alerts on an Avigilon system, at any supported version, with no extra Avigilon licensing to buy.

How it works: Avigilon's ACC Web Endpoint Service needs to be installed, with a port-forwarding rule on your firewall pointed at the ACC server. In Triton Cloud, you add the port-forwarded external IP and port under Integrations > Avigilon, along with credentials for a dedicated Avigilon user account (we recommend one scoped specifically to creating and managing bookmarks). Then you map each Triton sensor to its corresponding Avigilon camera by copying the exact Camera Name from ACC into Triton Cloud - matching is case-sensitive.

Alert workflow & camera association, live and after the fact: Once camera names are mapped, every Triton event automatically creates a bookmark in Avigilon and lands in Triton Cloud's Evidence Room alongside occupancy footage and sensor metrics (air quality, sound level, and more) from the moment of the alert - a permanent, timestamped record built for after-the-fact review. No POS license, no separate transaction source to configure - just accurate, camera-linked bookmarks for every Triton detection.

Live monitoring, without doing rounds: The Triton ULTRA occupancy stream can also be added to Avigilon as its own live RTSP stream, so operators aren't limited to reviewing bookmarked events after they happen - they can check in on a restroom in real time, alongside your cameras, without needing to walk over and look. Add every restroom to that same view, and one operator covers all of them at once - responding to what's happening instead of guessing which one to check.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best sensor to pair with Avigilon, especially on ACC 7 or Unity versions before 8.6?
Triton ULTRA. Avigilon's native, modern integration framework only opens up at Unity 8.6+ - everything below that, including all of ACC 7, is limited to the legacy POS Transaction engine, and that applies to any sensor vendor, not just Triton. Triton Cloud sidesteps that entirely: it connects to Avigilon at any version with no POS license required, so most schools and campuses running pre-8.6 Avigilon get modern, camera-linked detection alerts without an Avigilon upgrade.

Do I need an Avigilon POS Transaction License to use Triton with Avigilon?
Only for the on-prem path. Triton Cloud requires no POS license at all, on any Avigilon version.

How does this integration improve safety?
Every Triton event gets tied to real camera footage the moment it fires, whether that's a POS-triggered recording on-prem or an automatic bookmark through Triton Cloud. And because the occupancy stream can be viewed live in Avigilon alongside your cameras, one operator can monitor every restroom at once instead of relying on scheduled walkthroughs to catch what's happening in real time.

Can I review what happened after the fact, or do I have to be watching live?
No. On-prem, every event is searchable through Avigilon's POS transaction search tools. Through Triton Cloud, every event lands in Evidence Room with camera and occupancy footage from the moment of the alert. Either way, you can pull up the exact moment later without scrubbing through hours of footage.
